About Us: Our Journey, Values & Team at Small Space Tips

We’re a small team of renters, organizers, and design enthusiasts who truly understand the daily struggle of living in tight spaces.

Our journey began in tiny apartments — especially a 400 sq ft studio in a big city — where every inch mattered and traditional “home organization” advice simply didn’t work for renters. Frustrated by impractical solutions that required drilling, expensive custom builds, or ignored real-life constraints like security deposits and frequent moves, we decided to create something better.

At Small Space Tips, our core values are simple:

  • Renter-friendly first: No-drill, reversible, and damage-free solutions only.
  • Tested in real life: Every tip and product recommendation is tried and refined in actual small apartments (often multiple times).
  • Honest and practical: We cut through the fluff and only share what genuinely works for busy people on a budget.
  • Helpful, not salesy: Our goal is to make your small space feel bigger, calmer, and more functional — without pushing products you don’t need.

The team is led by Mehran Azam, a certified interior designer and small-space specialist with over 10 years of experience helping renters maximize their homes. Having lived the small-space life for years, Mehran has personally tested hundreds of storage hacks, closet systems, and layout ideas — many of which have been featured in Apartment Therapy and Real Simple.

We believe that small spaces shouldn’t feel limiting. With the right strategies, even the tiniest apartment can become a comfortable, organized, and joyful home.
